THE PAST IMPACTS OUR PRESENT 

Students inquired into and made the connection between Ancient Chinese shadow puppetry and animation to understand the concept of how the past has an influence on our present life.

Students saw how Chinese shadow puppetry was a precursor to opera and all forms of animation that we see today.

Grade 3 students worked in groups to write stories, plan their animation movie, create backdrops and assign different roles to collaboratively create a short clip using stop motion animation.
