To understand the art and the purpose of his work better students watched the documentary 'Waste Land' which follows Vik Muniz as he goes back to his native country Brazil from Brooklyn, USA. Vik Muniz goes to the world's largest garbage dump, Jardim Gramacho, located on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, and works with garbage and the garbage pickers to transform the material as well as the life of the workers.
