Students of Grade 5 and 6 were inquiring into different media and its impact on us and the choices we make. They made instant connection with media and the role of art in creating an effective design such as TV commercial or a press advertisement or even a designing a web page

Students looked at a variety of different media and studied the role of art in effective design making They inquired into how elements of art can change the visual impact of any design such as posters, logos, prints ads.

After inquiring into different kinds of designs Art Junkees decided to design logos. To do this exercise they first created their own company and identified the target audience for it based on the products it sells and of what value?

Here are some of the Logos designed by the students. Students brainstormed their ideas in their process journal by creating layouts, using pictures for reference and discussing with their their peers and teacher.

Logo Designing - As a part of the formative task students identified different criteria and designed their assessment for logo designing.

Students further showed their understanding of the role of art in media by creating posters.

Grade 5 chose to create a campaign by creating a series of posters about the areas which needs attention in school such as bullying, usage of the play area, wastage of resources in school , library and the dining hall, washrooms etc where as Grade 6 chose to create awareness about the global issues such as terrorism, world peace, global warming etc.
