Recycle art or trash art is a term generally used to described art created by using waste material! Art Junkees this were inspired to create art using junk!!
Students brainstormed on the topic and understood the urgent need to reduce, reuse and recycle the waste which we create everyday. They viewed a variety of works done by artist all over the world using waste. they looked the material used, technique used and purpose of works and decided to make utility objects using waste material.

Students made a list of waste material they see in the Art room and in school. paper definitely topped the list and hence they all decided to create something out if paper.
After researching on the different way of recycling paper, Art Junkees decided on working with Papier Mache'.
Papier Mache' is a very common technique to create objects using paper. It is a french word which means 'chewed paper'. Papier Mache' is construction material made from a paper either pulp or torn paper and a glue/flour and water.

Students were also exposed to the paper pulp technique of Papier Mache' through an 'In school Kashmiri Papier Mache' Workshop'. They got the opportunity to work with Artisans and learn the process and technique of making objects out of Papier Mache' .
